Season

 

These rules apply to all weight classes:

1.
Tractors can pull in
only two weight classes with (Two) different drivers in any weight class.
If two drivers pull a tractor in same weight class, only the longest pull will place, or be
eligible for awards.
All trophies
are to be released, short class will be
handed out.
2.
Drivers under the age
of 16 must have written permission from parent/guardian. They must also have an
adult walking beside them throughout the pull with a “kill” mechanism
for the tractor.
3.
Tractors must be stock in appearance. Alternators & straight pipes
are allowed. Air cleaners are to be stock in appearance.  No essential equipment
may be removed or disconnected. Tractors must be field ready. Tractors testing
more than 10% over factory high idle for that engine will not be allowed to
compete for prizes.
4.
The tractors’ drawbar will be no closer than 18 inches from the center of
the rear axel to hook point. Hook point to the ground will not exceed 20 inches.
Drawbars will be measured at the scale. The front wheels of the tractor are not
to exceed 16 inches off the ground during a pull. Wheelie bars are encouraged
but not mandatory.
5.
Tractor speeds are not to exceed (5) MPH. at any time. No shifting will
be allowed during the pull. Amplifiers must remain in the gear selected at the
beginning of the pull. Speed  limit
of  (5) MPH must be observed in the
pit & while leaving the track after the pull.
6.
When hooking or un-hooking, the driver must have the tractor out of
gear, foot off the clutch or the hand clutch disengaged & both hands in the
air. ( Clevis rule is 2 inches minimum. )
7.
All pulls must start with a tight chain. Driver must remain seated with
one hand on the steering wheel while they are pulling. No bouncing will be
allowed.
8.
Weight brackets are allowed but weight cannot exceed farther then 11
feet from the center of rear axel. Weights must be tied on.
9.
The track Judges have the right to stop a pull if safety becomes a
factor. Tractor must stop immediately upon a red flag signal or be disqualified.
If the Judge stops the puller for any reason, the puller will take the distance
from where he/she was stopped.
10.
Maximum tire size according to Firestone.
0-3500 lbs 130 sq. in.
3501-4500 lbs. 145 sq. in.
11.2 x 38 120 sq. in.
12.4-38 140 sq. in.
11.2 x 36 115 sq. in.
12.4×36 135 sq. in.
12.4 x 28 126 sq. in.
13.6 x 28 145 sq. in.
13.6 x 24 130 sq. in.
14.9 x 26  144  sq. in.
4501-5500 lbs. 170 sq.in.
5500-6500 lbs. 229 sq. in.

11.
Any tractor or puller found to be
unsafe or illegal will be disqualified from hooking. No alcoholic beverages will
be permitted on the track. No person under the influence will be allowed to
participate.
12.
Antique tractors are
strictly for fun. Therefore engine trouble. Gas line problems, jumping out of
gear or other such problems common to antique tractors during a pull does not end the pull. The puller may
remain in the track area & try again at the end of the class. Pullers may be
subject to a spot check.
13.
Entry fees will be determined by the organization sponsoring the pull.

14.
Drivers & officials will have a meeting immediately before the pull
starts. Pulling Judges will be introduced. The announcements made at time will
over rule published rules.
15.
The Antique farm tractor weight classes from 2008 on:

16. Pullers will be given tolerance on the scale.  (100 POUNDS ON THE UPPER SCALE.)

17. No Fueling after weighing-in.

18.
Stay by running tractors

19. Again clevis rule is Threaded
Pin with a minimum 2 inches opening.

20.
All WAPPA functions rules apply to all of the club rules & events.

21.
Pullers arriving late to weigh-in and safety meeting will be allow to pull for
exhibition only, not for trophies.

22.
The Club allows a guest to only pull at one event during the season. The second
time a guest wishes to pull they will be required to join the Club as a full
member.

These rules were voted on by the general membership at the January 26th, 2008  meeting &
passed by ballot.  They have not been revised since that vote.
